JiBiru & Batam II - 2011

I'm back with more pictures and please pardon my MIA since I just came back from JB :)
Did my nails and hair there before we came back!

Went for beer @ JiBiru, a place which serves Japanese craft beers @ 313 Somerset;

We chose to have dinner there because we only left home at 8:30pm, and not many places open till late, so we were happy enough to get seated!
There're several pubs and cafes around it - such as Brotzeit, Oriole and Charlie Brown Cafe.

JS my loverboy and Steph the flathead :(

Look at me leopard prints nails! My nails ain't very long so the manicurist and I spent some time discussing what we wanted before we came up with this.
It isn't obvious but there's a line of glitter where the prints stop :)

It's gelish & I'm expecting it to last till the new year :)

Since it's serving international beers and we're hardly fans of Japanese beers...
_MG_7680
Ordered Apple Cider and a Taiwan Lychee Beer to try :)
_MG_7679

The peek-a-boo cut on my dress and the lychee beer.
_MG_7666_MG_7670
The TW lychee beer has a fragrant, sweet note, and as of many fruit beers, it overpowers that bad liquor aftertaste :)
I recommend you to try this one if you're a fan of lychees!

_MG_7693
Zaru Soba which I felt didn't taste that good, anyway I wanted to have Soba very much tonight :)
_MG_7697

JS' Oyaku Don which did great because there's a big serving of chicken chunks, and the egg is set nicely - and runny too! I love my eggs in dons like that :)
_MG_7701
Yummy, Perfect!

The tempura fared badly. I like how crispy they were, but I didn't like that it was tasty/salty enough. The batter was done poorly.
I like the ones @ Sushi Tei though :)
_MG_7702
I guess I won't be returning for JiBiru unless I want my lychee beer and the dons!

Here's my WIW tonight!

Pick-me-up dress from Flauntlabel

The cutting of the dress is perfect for me - it has a very flattering and slimming cut.
A simple colorblock dress yet it shows off the shoulders - aww love it!
It's made of thick chiffon, with cotton lining. Features a pretty slit at the back.
Pair it with a black cardigan for work so that it keeps you warm.
* Fyi - the dress best fits UK6 & 8!

I ought to continue where I left from my Batam entry!

The Harris Trendy Room is what we were assigned, and on its highest floor
( I think it's the fifth).
_MG_7432_MG_7433
Fully air-conditioned and furnished with the basics :)

We had 2 double beds (they ran out of queens when we checked in at 430PM).
_MG_7434
A balcony with sea view
_MG_7439
Attached bathroom with a rainforest shower.

Pretty happy with the room :)
My previous room looked like this so there's no way I go back to the old wing's family room though it was more spacious :(

An open closet, full length mirror (cheers to that!) and an area to make coffee.

Crazy amount of snacks that was bought, but we never consumed them anyway.
Brought all these home.
_MG_7448

It was Harris' family day for their staff that day, so we didn't get to use the pool till the next.
I cant remember their theme but here's a really cute Patrick board :)
_MG_7457
Could see they treat their staff with much attention, love and care and the event area near the pool looks really fun where everyone spotted were relaxing!

In my massage attire walking to the resort lobby.

_MG_7464
My usual slack area when I'm there. To use its Wifi (which didn't work for me during this trip).
There were also 2 desktops for you to surf the internet in the lobby if you were eager to go online.

_MG_7467
Harris' own Christmas Tree.

Walked to the other building, to get to H Spa for our massage appointment.
_MG_7470_MG_7474
One hour traditional Indonesian massage was what we got in the wooden hut. We had the couple room :)
The masseuses used the kneading technique ( as of most Indonesian massage) and the session did relieve our sores and aches - greatttt!
Tipped the ladies before we left.

Was 9:30pm and trigger happy to see my favorite Jap-Korean fusion restaurant still open!
_MG_7478_MG_7482

Awesome side dishes. Every dish was good.
_MG_7483_MG_7484

Doenjiang Jigae (Bean Paste Soup).
The soy bean paste used was well fermented and this fragrant, thick soup won my boy's heart :)
_MG_7485
I can't help but to salivate while doing this post. Urghh!

My delicious Bibimbap with beef :)
_MG_7487

JS' pork katsu with udon and rice set.
I stole a few pieces of the katsu because it was so tasty :) love them!
_MG_7488
I hope I'll have another chance to go back to have their korean food again :)

Went back with full tummies and tried very hard to get to sleep. I thought I had difficulties digesting all that food that I consumed during dinner :X

JS & I at the balcony the next morning after washing up!

Some snapshots of the Harris Resort Waterfront, Batam.

You wil receive the best WiFi signal here at the pool area :)
_MG_7513_MG_7514
_MG_7502
FYI - you could see the H spa that we did massage the night before( we took it from the top floor) - they were actually wooden huts :)

The simple breakfast we did - it's inclusive in the package and please don't expect too much from it. Just pretty basic breakfast items!
_MG_7517
There were some complications to our check out - our tour guide initially told us that the remaining portion of our departure (white) card and our ferry tickets were left at the Harris counter.
We were anxious when the Harris person told us that they didn't find our tickets - in the end - it was left back at the ferry terminal which was 5 minutes drive away from Harris.
I guess the others found their tickets at the counter, only ours was left at the ferry company's counter >:((
If we didn't find the tickets, we would have been so pissed!!

Anyway, that sort of rounds up my Batam trip and I'll do a post on my room in JB next! :)
Have a good weekend before Christmas comes!
