CNY WIWs!

I've been trying to meet up as much friends as possible these days but time is never enough.

No thanks to me for procrastinating and delivering the late news to them about me moving, but I really don't know how to put it across to some of them.

The common questions had "Why", "When" and "How about JS?" in them and by this time, I should have templates for all these questions. Some of them had me answering defensively, some of them caught me thinking.

Answering some of these questions are as hard as decisions about the job, and that perhaps brought me to where I am; being reluctant to tell others.

I'm still going to give myself a pat at the back for e courage choosing this difficult path, whatever it brings me, I hope it's going to be a fruitful one :)

I'm going to blog CNY but to be honest, my CNYs never involved many pictures of my family because once we gather, we talk/gamble non-stop. I've made a few more stops of visitings this year since I'm leaving, to deliver news of my new job and to meet the relatives I miss ;)

day 1 outfit - stradivarius gold sweater, ttr floral skirt, hoh necklace, miumiu satchel

Spent my day with my closest aunt and family, before dinner with JS' family and then ending with my night stop at uncle's place (dad's side) where all my paternal relatives meet to gather.

day 2 outfit - LB's dress (launched last year), weaved clutch, grips heels, t&c chain

spent lunch at JS' maternal's relatives at grandparents' place. A yearly occasion that got me having headaches because his mom has 11 siblings :p

Q: How special is this steamboat?

A: It's one that runs on gas tank :) traditional!

Dinner spent at my eldest aunt's place (maternal) where my uncle and aunt whipped up some of their best dishes which were awesome. Ever since the demise of my granny, I've been wanting home cooked food. I know granny's dishes were still the best ;)

Ended the night with my paternal's relatives at the Aranda chalet we booked.

Catching up, gambling and etc expected! Won monies!

Über excited to see all these milos floating around and I know I want them (thought it's free some more)!

Kept nagging JS " i want milo, i want milo, i want milo" x1000 and the cycle goes on LOL.

I think he already thought of getting it for me from the start but I just like the thought of being annoying :pppp

ME MILO!

buy a packet of 16 satchels of their new milo product and get this annoyingly cute balloon.

I see both adults (without children) and kids having these so I guess we're all the same :x

Some pictures I took of River Angpao and as usual, it's themed dragon since it's dragon year and we walked around viewing elaborate exhibits.


This isn't deliberate but apparently the balloon floats in every direction.

I hit a few strangers (sorryyyy..) and it photobombs!

I'm hoping that you are not familiar with the chinese zodiac signs or their years.

Mommy, if you read this, I took dad, yours and bro's zodiac characters :)

Lastly ending with fortune God whom this year isn't distributing his gold sparkles.

I forced every friend I see to do the "drink milo" action and my boyfriend doesn't get spared :D

Food stalls these year are great! For the past 1-2 years they only had china-chinese food, which I only liked their dan dan noodles.

This year they resumed their Taiwanese food and had local stalls too! Price ranges from $3.50-$6 a dish. Char Kway Teow for a miserable plate is sadly $5.

the 贡丸 (meat ball) glass noodles soup is such an awesome dish that I'm pinning to see it exhibit every year, imma gonna go back for this again!

bought my travel guide and rested my legs before we go to Pam's place for visiting!

Had a bad cold starting Sunday (I'm still down with it, terrible i'm feeling).

Gonna review the new bag i got from Yventually!

Julia PU tote that was a sell-out the previous time the online store sold it so the owner manufactured another batch of these with improvements made;

A roomy and good quality tote for me to bring my laptop especially when I check in next week :)

Decided on the gunmetal grey (I find it blue too) as I find the tone unique.

It really like this shade so I decided this over nude, which was the other color I liked.

I think this bag's a beauty, and besides it's really roomy!

Some of the factors that makes me happy;

Delivered to me completely new (thanks Yvonne!)

With 2 inner slots at the front and 1 zip compartment at the back in its interior.

Black lining.

I tried filling it with small items and the bag holds them well with a good base.

metalware used are brass gold hardware that looks slightly vintage, with a front clasp and 2 magnetic buttons on its sides.

Matte wrinkled texture PU leather so no scratches can make it look worn :)

If you're lazy like me ( i don't like to fasten the sides) you can use the main zip to secure your items from falling out.

It comes with a sling and personally I like to wear the bag on my shoulders since the handles are long enough. I did a meet up with Yventually the other time, and I know they're going to hold one next Monday in the CBD!

Can someone take pictures of the nude pink worn if you get it please? I wanna see real life shots cos I think it's pretty too! :)

Having my last week in SG, I hope things will be smooth for this year!

getting my MBP KlearZkin!

I haven't felt so excited in a long time ;)

My MBP arrived 2 weeks ago and I deliberately left it boxed until I came back from HKG.

Unboxing this was an awesome feeling because I've been wanting to get a MBP for better performance.

Apple does great updates from one OS to another, and from one version of MBP to the next.

Decided on the 13" as it's more travel friendly in its series.

My previous macbook, pinky (now passed to my brother) lasted me for 3 whole years.

The first year used by my brother who had it through his final year of JC, and the last 2 years were used by me during my university days. The only time I repaired my macbook was just last year (after using it for 2.5 years) due to a faulty screen and it's now still being used.

I guess that says a lot about the durability of MacBooks!

To extend my MBP's lifespan....

A topup to get the AppleCare since I'm planning to use my MBP for the next couple of years.

I am one that wants the value of my MBP to be fully maximized!

Getting a durable protection for my new MBP is a must.

The aluminum casing of the MBP is easily scratched and I'm pretty anal when it comes to the exterior.

My previous experience with a hardcase (InCase) was pretty good, my only complaints were its wear & tear after a year;

- Silicon coating teared when my case first glided across table.

-When I remove my hard case, dust can be seen trapped, and hard case leaves marks on my laptop as it's meant to hold laptop tight. At times, removing it does cause scratches around the corners.

- Visible scratches were signs that this ought to be changed.

- Case adds weight to my macbook, which was slightly over 2kgs.

Well, I did recall reading a couple of product reviews that could relief a little pain of mine, so I gave it a try:

The first time I read about the product, I was like... “真的吗。。。？” ( direct translation: real or not...???)

If this glossy product indeed what it is, then won't it leave fingerprints?

How about the grip of the product?

With much doubts, I went to DG Lifestyle@Vivocity (Harborfront MRT) to look for Sabrina, the brains behind KlearZkin.

Warmly received by her when checking in the store, I placed my precious MBP at her care as she assessed the condition.

#1 Gadget Condition

Sabrina advised that the best time to get my gadget protected is in its new condition.

Even if you have scratch marks on the product/if it isn't all new, I guess it's no frets since you can always get KlearZkin applied for prevention!

Nasty scratches makes your macbook look old/used, and light reflects off glossy surface so generally your used product will look better after application.

#2 Installation

I stayed on to watch the application while Sabrina's concentrating hard to get it done.

The entire process takes 20 minutes to get done so the salesperson will usually ask the customer to come back for his/her product. You could use this time to get dinner or some shopping done.

I was amazed at how precise the cut is, and the film sticks on the corners of my laptop:

Best thing about this film? It allows adjustments if the film is not aligned or stuck on the way it should be placed.

This allows the salesperson to apply KlearZkin right before presenting the end product to the customer.

The cloth is her handy tool as she makes sure that the special liquid (used for installation) doesn't get to any ports. Having it professionally sorted out makes me feel at ease ;)

Through our chat, Sabrina informed me the product's also used on super cars, as it allows the colors to stay scratch-free with its resistant hard coat. Protection of your gadget is key for Sabrina and her partner when they thought of this product.

In addition, the film's transparency also allows a showcase of the car's original color and design.

#3 My own findings

I gave myself a week to test the film before I decided to write on it.

I've acknowledged that the product brings these benefits:

- Film protection makes MBP lighter than when I was using hard case

- MBP is slimmer, looks sleeker (as if it's been polished), can finally bring it in my tote :)

- Lit Apple logo can finally be seen, as it wasn't appearing through my hard case previously

-Precise cut, film is well-applied and aligned, including round corners.

- Screws of battery cover avoided as it allows user to detach the cover without the need to remove film.

- Scratch resistant, no misting or cloudiness.
