BKK trip with ma' girls!

Just came back from a 7 hour long flight from SIN! I finally went back home to see my family and to run some simple errands I never managed to do in Dubai.

1) Finally had a hair makeover after 6 frigging long months and spent a bomb.
Did a reddish brown dye, kerastase hair treatment and trimmed 2.5 inches from previous length.

Love how light it feels now! This other stylist of mine does really feminine haircuts so I've always loved going to him.
I've also gotten a new Braun hairdryer (thanks mom!) that has a cooling button, I would love to believe that it doesn't dry out the ends as much since I've tried them in some hotels!

2) Went to Dr. Ang to salvage my skin.
I was back really last minute and all I could think of was to visit Maple Clinic.

I've seen both Dr. Ong (Maple Clinic) and Dr. Chan (Kovan) and I really love how hassle free Dr. Chan's is (antibiotics, gel cleanser, spot remover cream). However, he advocates no use of moisturiser  and sunblock which is really harmful for my skin when I'm in Dubai, and such drastic weather changes between outdoor and the indoor (air conditioning) enlarged my pores, causing whiteheads. Frequent makeup usage didn't help the problem and I've very bad bumps and clogged pores that even extended to my cheeks. *sigh*

Currently on these topical creams and I'm hoping to clear the bumps before I clear those scars that I've caused due to my itchy fingers squeezing those whiteheads out. I've cleared my skin back in 2009-2010 because of topical creams, I'm hoping the same goes for now.
Will blog about my progress on and off on my blog if any's interested!

With all other pictures not loaded in my laptop, I'll go on blogging about a simple work trip done with my girls, Vittoria and Sue! :)

Wore flashy neon colors to the colorful streets of BKK.

With my friends from culturally different backgrounds, that makes me really glad about my job at times. It's interesting to learn about each other and now I could tell the differences or similarities between the different countries and their people :)

It was late when we did our night shopping so we went to MBK mall (Siam).
We took the metro since it was near our hotel at Silom and it was so much fun taking it as a group.

Directions: MBK Mall: 444 Phayathai Rd, Pathumwan.
Nearest BTS (train): National Stadium

Settled at the food court at MBK. Honestly, the place looks more like a restaurant!
MBK has 2 food courts - and I trust that this is the one which is slightly more expensive but it is crowd free so if you would like to spend a quiet dinner with your friends yet not go to a restaurant - here's the place!

@ level 5 of mall

It uses a card concept that reminds me of Marche. You pay by a "cashless" method by paying with a card at the various stalls before you pay the final amount of all you've spent at the main cashier at the end.

my beef noodles which is more like Vietnamese style.

My really good Thai Iced Tea.

Went first to Tokyu (department store in MBK) to buy lingerie.
I swear by the lingerie brand Wacoal (level 1) whenever I'm in Bangkok because you could get bras, shapers, seamless undies and all at a really good price tag and quality.

Walked to Siam Street with Vitt and Sue for some shopping.
Siam street features lots of street stalls and boutiques so it's a must-go whenever I'm there. There're many small alleys that I always explore because the most reasonably priced items are in there.

Directions: Siam Street is connected via the bridge (exit Tokyu level 2) which is a street away from MBK! It's the only street that doesn't have a big mall directly infront it so that flight of stairs will lead you to the street.

I'm really lazy to dress up whenever I'm not home in Dubai or SG so these basics will serve me well during trips.

love the houndstooth skorts from ART.

We saw lots of really cute stuff, such as the Sir (mustache) logo watches by a street stall, lovely accessories stores, and dropped by my favorite ART store which sells everything for a fixed price ( i can't remember, was it 150/180 baht?)

ART is near a rundown cinema area, or if you could find Watsons, it should be around the corner!

Sir ring in neon pink which is what I need to have! :p

Next Day!
Cabbed down to Platinium mall because my girls want their deal of shopping done in the 2 mega wholesale malls.
Had my brunch in food court of Platinium - I like their fare of local food and it's one of the cheapest food courts around all the malls I've been in Bangkok.

Fried pork braised rice is yums!
I also like the beef claypot stick noodles at the extreme left of the food court at the direction you're standing facing the stalls. Try it if you're there.

Me and Sue sharing a plate of mango sticky rice (awww, glorious stuff).

Vitt and me with my honey banana fruitshake :) I'll love to get a blender- should I?

The hotel I used to frequent because I loved how easy it is to get to Siam and Platinium. It will be my best recommendation to get a hotel as I loved its really good service and inroom dining. I haven't really tried Centara because it is always the troubled riot area during my July trips.
Whatever it is now, staying now at Silom which is the business district makes me moody at times lol!

Platinium has 2 malls. Facing the malls, the left smaller building is the new mall which are great for shoes and bags. I find that the new mall has better stuff at a higher price.
The right hand side building is the main wholesale (spells "cheaper") for clothings and accessories.

We did a dress up in Sue's room while waiting for Flavia to get dressed for lunch.

I bought an evening dress for Huifen Jie's wedding in Nov which I'm going to be in SG for (finally I could take leave!)
We bought really amazing stuff at a steal, like Sue's dress was only for 30SGD for a toga with crystal embellishment! I remembered I got a dress for 99SGD from Dorothy Perkins and it looked almost the same!

Some crazy shots we took when Flav joined us.

Went for early dinner at the nearby restaurant. Coconuts there were really good (I love eating the flesh of coconut husks) and food was pretty good as well.

Shrimp paste rice (my personal favorite) with seafood.

That pretty much ends my BKK trip and I'm hoping to get on another one in Sept... Should I? :-)
