london again in april!

I'm thinking of updating either some of my Dubai fun (did quite a bit of things after my trip) or London but I decided to do the latter since the former can wait!

my room this time for one person- 2 queens and 8 pillows! wonderful setup :)

We went out immediately after landing into heathrow and after 14 hours of not sleeping, I think I am a #zombie

grabbed our starbucks and off we went!

Fe said that she wanted to bring us to camden lock, and I heard a bit about the place.

From the site itself:

Took the Piccadilly line on the metro with a one-day pass (unlimited train rides and bus rides- 8.50pounds) and for an hour's ride, there we went!

it's a really pretty place that looks kinda vintage, with lots of tourist stores selling souvenirs and handicrafts :)
It has a little market space (market hall) that I love as well!

The girls have hungry tummies that need fuel to refill their energy for the day, it's funny how they love chinese food more than I do.
Here's a stall selling mixed chinese rice (all you can fit in a plate) for 4 pounds and a drink included :)

i bought some groceries - strawberries, corn and veg which are oh-so-fresh, you can't get them in dubai everrr and cookies that jorin said is a must-buy!

not forgetting my favorite bakery products!! :))

off to shanghai in a week and hoping to meet my cousin! :))))

Just came back from London, cooked myself some kimchi noodles and just read a nice Facebook message and thought to keep it here. I love how this message is delivered, and all the while in my relationship, I've been the receiving end more than the giving one. Well.... :)

男孩有一個女友，

她長得普普通通，不像有的女孩很會打扮、

會彈琴、會作菜，但還算溫柔體貼。

她會每晚幫他買好晚餐送到他家，因為她說她順路。

甚至當著大家的面對她大小聲，約會遲到，找不到人。

可是女朋友都沒有生氣，她會垂頭喪氣，

但是隔天就立刻帶著世故和溫暖的笑容回來。

他甚至連她的眼淚都沒看過。

也是她女友的個性優點，

但他就是嫌她這點不夠女人。

一直到有一天，女友的生日，男孩忘記了。

但是很奇怪，到了隔天傍晚，女友竟然連一通電話都沒打來。

平常這個時候，她早就該帶著晚餐出現，

一邊說：「對不起喔！我又晚到了啦！工作好累」，

然後穿著那個破洞的牛仔褲，一副很狼狽的模樣。

出了客廳，卻看到門縫底下塞了一個信封，

上面註明是給他的，他認得，這是女友的筆跡，

男孩打開信封，裡頭的信紙上寫了一段話：

被愛是，每天下班都有人幫你準備好晚餐。

原來是因為女友沒和他說晚安。

因為她用心的顧慮到男方的一切，包括朋友的感受。

而他這一刻才發現，原來女友照顧他的方式這麼無微不至，

以致於他完全沒發現，甚至感到不耐煩。

「被愛」的人，請記得要惜福，不是每一個「去愛」的人

都會永遠毫無悔恨的為你付出。

不要以為一通電話、一個笑容、一頓晚餐，都是應該的。

因為「去愛」的人花了多少心血在這些事情上，

Dubai Aquarium with Althea

I'm finally going back to work the day after tomorrow! I kinda miss work and am sick of lazing around in the house. Here's a list of things I did while I was on my medical break:

1) a- cleaned the linen, bedsheets and comforter cover

b- cleaned the house, i mean even the stove as well.

2) applied for leave for next half a year so that i can plan for holidays

3) cooked everyday since I'm home, sick of thinking of dishes to cook.

4) started reading a book that I bought off Kino last week.

And here I am going to blog about a month ago when my Singaporean friend, Althea came to Dubai!

I get uber duper excited when people come to town to visit.

Went to Dean and Deluca again for lunch with Althea and wanted to again try the chicken pot pie but it was sold out AGAIN. gosh this is the second time and its gone still ;(

Althea chose to have a sandwich while I had my beef lasagna, nice if it wasn't burnt at the bottom.

Gahhh, food can be better here, wasn't as good as the first time I had there.

Althea called this my "good friend" because this electronic map can bring you around Dubai Mall, I swear! It directs you to the right level, and the right direction to any shop listed in its directory :) 

You won't be lost having this, taking the aquarium as the center of the mall.

Vanilla and Choc cake from Magnolia again.... I know I know, people must be tired of seeing me posting cakes from M but I love them!

Lemon Meringue cake which goes so well with tea :D definitely one of my favorites (along with red velvet)!

We went out for some fresh air after shopping and took some pictures along the way since it was going to be dawn.

still amazed each time I watch the fountain show :D

We went to different sections which featured smaller fishes, creepie crawlies and some kodomo dragon-alike and penguins;

The only touristy thing Althea got to do in Dubai is visit the burj khalifa and aquarium lol, I wished we had company to do the desert safari (cos my mates pulled out :( )

Lastly, we did get her some souvenir to bring back to SG!
